#1 TEN YEARS FROM NOW

TEN YEARS FROM NOW | Next Level Study Tips

Interview yourself in 10 years

Let's begin with the Aureus Method. First of all, I'm going to ask you to imagine yourself 10 years from now.
We do this because lots of people live their life depending on what's happening right now instead of setting goals for the long term. If you don't set goals for your future, you will most likely end up unsatisfied with your life.
Once you have the image of yourself in 10 years, try to picture how do you see yourself in the following areas:
  • Studies / Job
  • Friends
  • Relationships
  • Family
  • Health
  • Happines
Once you have this, let's begin!

Questions

The things that you defined before are your goals. With this in mind, answer the following questions:
  1. How old are you?
  2. Are you studying? What?
  3. Do you have a job? Doing what?
  4. How did you get that job?
  5. Are you in a relationship / married?
  6. Do you have children?
  7. Are you living on your own home or with your parents?
  8. Do you still have the same friends?
  9. What do you do in your free time?
  10. How is your family relationship?
  11. Are you healthy?
  12. Which are your best experiences and achievements in the past 10 years?
  13. Are you happy?
  14. How did you get there?
These questions are really important, even if they don't seem like it. I recommend that you keep the answers in a place where you can look at them a year from now, to see how much you've changed.

Now get back to your real age and answer this two questions:
  1. What can I do now to influence my life in ten years?
  2. Which resources and limitations do I have?
Easy right?

This is the start of your new life.

Advice for you

Now you know what you want, so let me give you a little advice on how to get there:
  • Set realistic goals
  • Set your goals writing them. Go into detail, be specific and clear
  • Set a time to accomplish your goal. Set short, medium and long term goals
  • Divide big goals into small ones
  • Check out this goals every now and then, and change them if you want

#2 PERSONAL FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE YOUR STUDY

Next Level Study Tips to Study Well

Three big areas

There are three big areas in your life that will affect largely on your study:
  • Physical state
  • Autoconcept
  • Motivation
Let's look closer.

Physical state

Inside physical state we have some important stuff to cover:
Sleep: Do you sleep enough? The brain should rest around 8 hours per day, but some people need more or less. Check how much time do you need in order to be refreshed the next day. If you are not sleeping well it could be for many reasons. A quick search online will help you find them. In an extreme case, you should visit a sleep doctor.
Health: Are you sick too often? Being sick affects a lot at your brain and your study skills. I recommend making doctor appointments every now and then to check out that everything is fine.
Eating: Depending on the food you eat, your brain will be more active or not. If you don't know the pyramid of food, let me explain it quickly. The things you should eat most are bread, rice, cereal and pasta. You should also eat vegetables and fruit, but in less quantity than the others. Following these two, there is meat, fish, milk and cheese. These are important, but eat less than fruit or vegetables. And finally fats and sweets, which you should avoid.
Exercising: This is an important point. Don't forget that your brain is a part of your body, and when you exercise, you are also training the brain. Exercising helps your brain be refreshed. You also sleep better and have a healthier life. If you don't have time to exercise, at least join a gym and go a couple times a week.

Autoconcept

Autoconcept is how we see ourselves. This is a very important part, because our brain works according on how we see ourselves. For example, if I think I'm stupid, then my brain will think that I'm stupid, and therefore I will end up being stupid.
I want to show you how much damage can a bad autoconcept do. Pay attention to the next story:
A group of single men went out Saturday night. John was one of the guys in the group.
John and his friends were at the bar, when a beautiful woman, Maria, approached him:
- Maria: Want to dance?
- John: Me?
- Maria: Yes
- John: I guess..
- Maria: (angry) You don't look too psyched to dance with me
- John: I don't know why you are picking me.
- Maria: Why not? You look nice
- John: Nice? This suit is 15 years old, I have a big nose and I dance like a duck. Still want to dance?
- Maria: Better not.
Do you see the problem here? In fact, John was one of the most attractive man on that bar, but his autoconcept made him think that he was worthless.
Don't let that happen to you.
The next question is: How do I raise my autoconcept?
Lots of people will tell you that you have to think positive, and good things will come to you, but this is completely fake.
This is what will make your autoconcept grow:
MOVE YOUR ASS, START BUILDING YOURSELF, START WORKING ON YOURSELF, AND DON'T LET ANYBODY TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN'T DO IT.
SELF-CONFIDENCE COMES AFTER THIS.

Motivation

If you allow me, I will skip this part, as you can read it here .
To summarize motivation:
  • Work hard
  • Motivation will come later, not in the beggining
  • Create a routine
That's it for this part. There are 7 more parts of Aureus Method to study well. Which I will post soon.
